Scheduled for June 13th, 2011 :: Added by Zeke BMWCCA Patroon & New York — Longest Day @ WGI June 2011 BMW CCA — Patroon Chapter Monday Jun 13, 2011 Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, NY
I’m signed up and so are Jon, Jamie and Dan, and Neil — anyone else? What are everyone’s plans? I’ll be camping and trying to make it a short trip out to minimize the disruption with the job. More importantly, what run groups are people in these days with Patroon. I signed up experienced / advanced, and am hoping to be eligible for the afternoon open track by the end of the day. It’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed the Glen, however, and I’d be perfectly content with what the $275 gets. mmm…
the gospel according to DJ as of 5/21: “The Longest Day at Watkins Glen is right around the corner. AND if you hang out on Tuesday you get to see Tony Stewart drive a McLaren F1 car and Lewis . . . → Read More: Patroon BMWCCA @ Watkins Glen Int’l
Scheduled for April 23rd, 2011 :: Added by Zeke Jamie: April 23rd is the Patroon Chapter HPDE at Lime Rock Park – it’s currently full, but if it’s a nice day and you’d like to find out more about being on the track, drive down and check it out. Dan, Mike and I will be there to answer any questions you might have.
For more information about Lime Rock Park.
For more information about Patroon BMWCCA’s track program. This event may be full but there are plenty more to come later this season.
Scheduled for March 19th, 2011 :: Added by Zeke This karting event has been rescheduled!
Karting at On Track Karting in Wallingford, CT Saturday, March 19 – 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Meet at the Albany Pump Station at 9 a.m. – caravan to Wallingford, CT – boogie around the track – eat out at a local pub / restaurant – return home tired & happy.
RSVP Here!
Google maps sez that it’s a 2.5 hour drive from the Albany Pump Station to On Track Karting, 120-130 miles depending on route.
I filed this under autocross / track – karting is close enough mid-winter. Any questions can be asked here, Facebook, or directed to Jamie.
Here’s a track map I found on On Track’s website:
Scheduled for October 3rd, 2010 :: Added by Zeke The last autocross of the season for MoHud takes place this Sunday at Wilton Mall in Wilton, exit 15 off the Northway.
We’ll be in the parking lot of the mall toward the rear, you can’t miss it looping the mall in either direction. Registration closes at 9:30 a.m. and participants should be there earlier. First car off for spectating is typically between 10:30 – 11 a.m.
$25 for members, $40 for non-. Loaner helmets available. Car needs to be mechanically sound. Looks like it’ll be a bit nippy – dress warm.
There’s a revised course design this time around that should feel fresh from the previous events held here. And it’s the last one before the long hibernation season.
Scheduled for September 24th, 2010 :: Added by Zeke On Friday Sept. 24th 2010 Mohawk Hudson Region is hosting a PDX (aka HPDE or High Performance Driving School) at the exclusive Monticello Motor Club in Monticello NY. Monticello is a beautiful facility with a challenging racetrack designed by Brain Redman about 2 hours south of Albany.
This will be the last year they rent the “full course” at the track. So it might be your last chance to take advantage of it’s 18 turns, 3.8 mile length without plunking down big bucks for a membership. Entry fee for students. $250 for SCCA members, $265 for non SCCA members.
This event is basically full by this point, and I count five MINIs registered, but you can always request to be added to a wait list. Additional information, rules, paperwork is available here. Online registration is over at MotorSportReg, and it’s listing 93 registered drivers at this moment (9/7).
Scheduled for September 11th, 2010 :: Added by Zeke This Saturday will be the annual autocross event on Prospect Mountain, organized by the Corvette club there, usually coinciding with the big Vette event in Lake George, with MoHud’s timing equipment, help, and some members.
I don’t have exact an exact timeline for the day, but it has a similar schedule as any other event. The road up the mountain does not open until 9 a.m., so there’s no reason to arrive earlier than that. There is an extra $5 or $7 charged to drive up the mountain in the first place, whether you’re participating in the event or not.
MoHud’s course designer has posted a map of the course he’ll be setting up. It’s a small lot so things will be tight. Good for the MINIs. I hope to attend.
The entrance to the Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway is gated and requires a toll, and is off of Route 9 and Route 9N in the town . . . → Read More: Prospect Mtn. Autocross with Vette Club
Scheduled for August 30th, 2010 :: Added by Zeke Patroon BMW visits Monticello for an HPDE August 30. Room in the advanced student run group still available! (EDIT 8/18: no chance now, try the MoHud event Sept. 24)
Patroon Chapter BMWCCA ventures to the new Monticello Motorsports Park for a Full day on the Full Course in association with the NY Chapter. We will be using the whole track which measures 4.1 miles, with 20 corners and three straights!
This is a BMWCCA Drivers School ( other makes welcome!) with in car and class room instruction.
Entry fee is $250 with more info on the event to follow! This is a Challenging course for all types of drivers and a short drive from the Capital District or the New York City area.
Word on the street is that this may be the last year that Monticello allows public organizations and non-members (of the race track) onto the full course, so get it while you can! Seriously!

Scheduled for August 22nd, 2010 :: Added by Zeke This Sunday, August 22, Mohawk-Hudson SCCA hosts their fifth points event of the season. Our course designer always posts up course maps in advance, so if you want a peak at what it will look like, check the thread.
We return to Wilton Mall for this one. That will be exit 15 off the Northway. The usual suggestions and regulations apply. Registration closes by 10:15 a.m. but it’s advised to arrive at least a half hour prior to that.
The Wilton Mall lot is small, so it means a lot of circling and criss-crossing, but it’s also a simple course to follow, so novices are welcomed! Loaner helmets are available and all you need is a car that’s prepared to drive home after being roughed up a little. Well, all you need is a car that’ll pass tech, but take it from me, it’s a bummer to catch a ride in a tow truck at the end of . . . → Read More: MoHud Autocross 5 at Wilton Mall
Scheduled for July 24th, 2010 :: Added by Zeke While Mohawk-Hudson SCCA does not have dates for the new site (which, by the way, is at Fortitech on Route 50 in Glenville), MoHud does have two autocross dates quickly coming up.
Saturday, July 24 will be another test and tune, this time held at the McCarty Ave location. It’s the Office of General Services parking lot at the end of 787, nestled between 787 and 9W.
Sunday, July 25 will be the fourth points event of the season, again at McCarty Ave. Registration closes at 9:15 a.m. each morning, and it’s advised to be there comfortably half an hour ahead of that time. Everyone is welcomed to attend, and loaner helmets are available.
After this, there is an August 22 date back at Wilton Mall. As said before, the fall ACC dates have been canceled, but hopefully we can replace those events at Fortitech or one of the other locations. Updates as they come, or over at . . . → Read More: MoHud Points Event #4 + test and tune
